Story with no Title. Day 38

Hey, gang. Sup?
I’m over at the Health Sciences Library at NYU and I just finished reading Atlas of Comparative Sectional Anatomy of 6 Invertebrates and 5 Vertebrates by Géza Zboray and Zsolt Kovács. It was, like, super interesting, especially the part about my cousin, Blaberus giganteus. Now that I can see the diagrams, it’s easy to pick out the subtle differences between Periplaneta Americana and good old Homo sapiens, although I kind of identify with both. Sort of like the LGBT community except for me it’s the HSPA movement. I’m thinking of starting a new website on the topic – which would be fantastic – but for the time being I will stick with saveabug.org. I’ll keep you posted on any changes. But that’s off topic.
Here’s what I wanted to share. We are, like, just the same. Check the diagram:

You see what I’m saying? I know we look different but the similarities are still striking, right?
Look at the leg parts. They are practically identical.

If you study the head parts closely, you will also see very similar parts and pieces, although much larger on the H. sapiens side. Nonetheless, it goes to my point. Mandible – mandible; maxilla – maxilla. Right?
We share lungs and circulatory systems, even digestive parts. If you are squeamish, you might want to close your eyes here.

Despite my continued research, I have to admit I am a bit confused with the whole private parts department. If you’re a prude, you might want to skip this entire section. It may be too much detail for the average reader.

These are the best diagrams I could find. As you can see, the P. Americana structures are quite simple. I think this diagram makes very clear my concerns regarding the sexualizing in H. sapiens, mostly with regard to the numerous positions depicted in the Kama Sutra. I’m having trouble understanding just how it works. The Periplaneta vulva, which looks a bit different than that of the Ms. H. sapiens, is designed for easy access, quick insertion, single orientation, all done quick as a wink. So why are there so many options with H. sapiens?

It just doesn’t make a lot of sense. I know there is an enormous amount of attention focused on the topic but not a lot of explanation, at least that is understandable to this reader.
As I am a team player, I am still prepared to go along with the whole thing, even though it is still not entirely clear what actually goes on during a “session”. I think I am still on the learning curve, and I’m totally okay with that. In fact, just today I accidentally wandered into the ladies lingerie department at Victoria’s Secret and you won’t believe some of the things I saw. Why, those bras would make even me look glamorous. I’m serious. I had to leave after a bit, as my temperature was rising, if you get my drift. Look, I’m just a normal guy and these things can get to me. It’s hard to explain. Let’s just leave it at that.
So, what were we talking about? Oh, yeah, anatomy.
There are some differences, I admit. But in the big picture, we are, like, the same, you and me. And that makes us brothers, right? I just sent some spit to 23andMe. Those results will be super interesting and who knows what I will find. I could even be related to the president.
